Westex Medical Services prides itself on employing a diverse team of multinational medical and administrative staff who speak English, French, Spanish, Urdu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Pashtu, Farsi, Dari, Tagalog, Russian, Ndebele and Shona. We have grown over the years to become a trusted practice to both the local and international communities in Afghanistan.

Dr. Shoaib
Dr Shoaib graduated from the Kabul Medical University and currently practices at the Military Hospital in Kabul. He is 1 of only 4 doctors that was chosen from Afghanistan to participate in an ICU Residency that is run by the Canadian Government and where Doctors are given a Canadian-based training. Dr Shoaib oversees our ICU cases. He speaks English, French, Pashtu and Dari.
Dr Ismail
Dr Ismail graduated from Ukraine Zaporozhya State Medical University. He trained as a General Practitioner in Russia and specializes in Internal Medicine. Dr Ismail is fluent in English, Russian, Pashtu, Urdu, Farsi & Dari.

Dr. Ishaq
Dr Ishaq is the younger brother of Dr Gran Zwan and is our latest Doctor to join the medical team. He graduated from Aryana University in Kabul in 2015 and is working as a Junior Doctor handing case management for Westex Medical Services. He speaks English, Urdu, Hindi, Pashtu and Dari.
Dr. Farid
Dr Farid graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Nangarhar University in 2012 and qualified as a Pediatrician from the Indira Ghandi Institute of Child Health, Kabul. He has experience of working on General Wards throughout Afghanistan as an undergraduate and postgraduate since 2011. Dr Farid is our General Practitioner and oversees our pediatric cases. He speaks English, Pashtu and Dari.

Precious, RGN
Precious qualified as a RGN from the Mpilo School of Nursing in Zimbabwe and has over 18 years experience in occupational health & safety, wound care, ICU, infectious disease management, burns management, ER, maternity & post partum care and E.N.T emergencies. She is ISO certified and speaks English, Ndebele and Shona.
Anila, RGN
Anila qualified as an RN from the Chaityana School of Nursing in India. She has over 8 years experience as a Staff Nurse in CCU at Yashodha Super Speciality Hospital, Ghaziabad, India as well as experience in the Surgical Department of the Paras Hospital, India. She speaks English, Hindi and Malayalam.
Subin, RGN
Subin qualified as a GNM from the St Ann's School of Nursing, Rajiv Ghandi University, India in 2007. He has over 8 years experience as a Staff Nurse in ER and Medical Surgical Wards. Subin speaks Malayalam, English, Hindi and Kannada.

Administration Staff
Janette, MInstAM
Janette is from the United Kingdom and has worked in Afghanistan since early 2009. She is a member of The Institute of Administrative Management UK and a current CPID Student. She has over 20 years international Administrative & Human Resource experience in the private and public sectors in the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East and South Asia. She speaks English and is proficient in Spanish.
Michelle, Janet and Rowena provide administrative support to our busy clinics. They organize our logistics, schedule appointments and provide support at event standby’s. They are from the Philippines and speak English and Tagalog.
We also employ local nationals who have been working for Westex Medical Services from the day we began our business. They are highly skilled and provide valuable support to our clinics.

Team of Consultants
Dr. Norman Gustavson, Ph.D. Psychologist
Dr. Gustavson is a clinical psychologist from the US who has been working Afghanistan for over 9 years. He has consulted with IMC, HN-TPO, Afghan Red Crescent and many other organizations on mental health programs and organizational issues.
Dr. Tamim - Oral Surgeon
Dr Tamim is a qualified Oral Surgeon and provides dental services to our international clients. He operates his own practice in Kabul and visits our Q Kabul clinic twice a week. He specializes in dental implants and speaks English, Pashtu, Dari and Farsi.
Dr. Azim - Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr Azim provides Orthopedic care and advice to our patients.
